Climate change: thanks to media bias, the case for yes is loud, but empty

In recent years, sections of the media have been pushing the man-made climate change theory for all it’s worth. News that adds weight to the theory receives prominent news coverage; news that debunks the theory given little coverage, or worse, none at all. Media bias is there for all to see. The amount of support and publicity given to alarmists, the believers that humanity is responsible for global warming, is disproportionate to the number of people who actually support this theory.

The media has a lot to answer

Reading the public comment section of the websites of major media organizations, support for global warming is around 1 in 3 people, while those who are not convinced by the alarmist arguments are 2 in 3 . That is the main opinion around the world. However, in some countries, the situation is reversed, with as many as 2 out of 3 people supporting the theory of man-made global warming, which makes it very easy for politicians to seek electoral advantage by promising all kinds of policies. that would supposedly stop global warming. .

It seems that every major problem that arises in the world is caused by global warming, be it weather conditions in the Caribbean, drought in Australia, or famine in Africa. The media jump on this and in their ignorance, speed up the Yes case, without giving any substantive comment.

Let’s look at just a few examples

Of the 10 fiercest hurricanes to hit the US, all occurred before 1950. And yet the alarmists’ allies, the international media, insist that changing weather conditions are the cause of these natural phenomena. The public is being denied the truth. Why?

In Australia, alarmists point to the current drought and suggest that this is the worst drought in the country’s history. not so Australia’s worst drought occurred between 1893 and 1904. Alarmists also say that the poor state of the country’s longest river system, the Murray, is the worst in its history and is due to global warming. Again not so. By the mid-1850s the Murray was nearly dry for much of its length.

And finally, the alarmists tell us that the famine in Africa is being caused by man-made global warming causing increasing problems, when the real cause is problems with the quality of political governance. This is in accordance with UN policies not to be too critical of despotic and murderous regimes in third world countries.

The alarmists would have us believe that their case is proven and cut and dry. We are told that since 5,000 scientists in the US have signed a petition confirming their support for the theory, then it must be correct.

What they won’t tell us is that 31,000 US scientists, including more than 9,000 Ph.Ds, say the theory is simply wrong. And that there is no evidence that global warming, if it is occurring, has been caused by human activities. But of course the media is not going to make too much of this, it’s not news. They have an interest in keeping the story going.

All of this begs the question: why are alarmists happy to support a theory that has no credibility, and why do the media around the world agree to promote this position and give alarmists more publicity than they deserve? ?

Some say that the alarmists are those who 30 years ago suggested that the West was responsible for all men’s political problems: friction with socialist/communist forces; the military buildup and the obscene amounts of money spent on weapons of war; US support for right-wing dictatorships in Central and South America; and, finally, Western support for Israel’s position in the Middle East.

These people are now said to support the man-made global warming theory because they blame the industrial west. A position that the UN seems happy to support, since it does not recognize the role played by deforestation of the land, which occurs mainly in the poorest and non-industrialized countries.

Others suggest that the biggest failing of alarmists is that they are not prepared to see the big picture.

They seem to focus on data collected in the last 100 years, but more especially in the last 50 years. They are not prepared to ask questions or provide solutions about events that happened in ages past.

In fact, the biggest criticism that can be made is that they approach the subject in a completely unscientific and poorly researched way without taking into account the translation of data in a professional way.

For alarmists to convince people that man-made global warming is underway, the evidence they produce has to be more credible.

This is an attempt to balance the ongoing international controversy that is the theory of man-made climate change.
