Where to share your quality content

There’s no question that if you can create quality content, you want it to get out there and be seen by as many people as possible, even better if the owners of those eyeballs are likely to be your target market.

Not only can you increase visits to your website and therefore increase conversions, but you can also improve loyalty to your products and services, validate your position in the industry, and increase brand awareness.

So what are the best places to put your stuff?

As with all marketing, you need to know your demographic and relate it to the type of content you’re creating. Certain web sites are going to attract specific users; Your first task is to determine where your potential buyers hang out.

…and you won’t be short of options, let’s take a look:

social sites

Social networks have transformed the way we communicate, access information, buy and sell, and waste time. Each social networking site has a slightly different angle and therefore either appeals to a unique type of user or is used for specific purposes. Sites like Facebook and Twitter can be great for your business page and ads, but they largely have a social bent. So remember this when you post. This is not really the place to describe their latest product and super deals. But an article that is of interest to your industry with links to your site and services can be really effective.

eyes have it

The Internet is now a very visual place to be. We all love videos and graphics, and according to a recent Ipsos survey, OTX images are the most shared type of content. So make sure your articles have graphics or videos to keep that attention span every Monday morning. The best image sharing sites are Instagram, Flickr and Pinterest.

the professional angle

When that article needs to be consumed by a professional audience, you should think of LinkedIn or even Google+. The former also has great group sections that focus on whatever topic, industry, or niche topic you like. This ensures that your article is likely to be read by your target market who is interested in niche topics.

here is the news

Who better to share your content than current buyers or people who have signed up for your online services? Through frequent emails or newsletters, you can keep your loyal audience up to date with articles that will specifically interest them and drive more sales and brand awareness.

Share and link at the same time

The most effective way to get links for your website is through guest blogs or trade articles. If you link to the webmaster of another website (within the same industry but not a competitor), he/she may receive an article on your site. In addition to creating additional shared content, you are also creating what could be a very powerful link.

specialized content

There are also some great sites set up for all your niche content. Why not use that recent PowerPoint training presentation as a marketing tool? SlideShare is very popular and is set up to deal with this eventuality. Are you a bit of a designer at heart? Infographics are really big right now and can turn boring information into a cool event, Visual.ly might be the site you’re looking for.

article sites

There are many article sites that will allow you to submit your high-quality articles, giving you more exposure, more credibility, and more traffic to your website. Some are stricter than others, so be sure to read their “article submission rules.”

One of the rules is, no direct selling, however… you can add your personal bio where you can include a FREE gift.

You can see an example of mine in the resource box below.

google news

Google news feeds will reach an international audience. Readers can filter feeds for exactly the news topics they want so they know they’ll get news on their favorite topics. You can request that your articles appear in Google News here.

As I always say, go out there and “expose yourself” metaphorically speaking, of course!!
