The first step to a new you (Most people forget this step!)

If you did it in January, congratulations. Now is the season of new beginnings. Don’t think about resolutions, because that means change, and people don’t like change. Think of the new year as a time for new things. People love new things! New cars, new clothes, new everything.

It wouldn’t be fair of me to say that you want a new body. Let’s face it, the things you ate and drank between Thanksgiving and New Years have been taking their toll on your body, and you’ll continue to see their effects well into January. Where does this leave you for a fresh start? Good for one, your intestines! Health is in your intestines. When you have dead matter and overgrowth sitting there rotting, you are bound to have sickness and disease. Your intestines affect things like sinus infections, yeast infections, and even acne!

Yes, your intestines have been busy digesting and absorbing whatever is in your body, which prompted you to read this very article. The reason I’m concentrating on the intestines now is because before we do a full body transformation, we need to start with a good foundation. And no, I’m not talking about doing X number of hours or miles of exercise per week as a baseline. What I’m talking about is a cleaning.

Why do you need a cleaning? Because your body can’t absorb everything it consumes. It just stays there. And if it’s too hard to digest, your body would rather you just sit there and wait…forever. The five weeks of “season” have made some deposits inside of you that are going to stay intact, stuck to your intestines, choking the intestinal lining. Do you know where cancer cells come from? They are cells that have a lack of oxygen, or are acidic (below the alkaline state in which it should be). If your intestinal lining is being suffocated from the oxygen it needs, or you are suffering from candida yeast overgrowth, well my friend, I would start looking into colon cleanses or colonoscopies.

There are several cleanses out there. The simplest is to fast from all food and fluids except water for the entire day. This means you wake up one day, eat nothing all day, and then go to bed hungry. Drinking a lot of water is essential.

Another great cleanse is a three day apple cleanse. More or less, this is an all-you-can-eat (quick) apple fest for three days. The pectin in apples soaks up all the gunk in your intestines, and the fructose carbs keep you going. The strange thing is that you will still feel very hungry no matter how many raw apples you eat. Washington or golden apples work best. If you don’t like apples, then grapes are an alternative, but I’d rather you stick with apples.

One last fast to consider is a vegetable fast, nothing but vegetables for 1-3 days. This also helps clean the inside, but you don’t get the amount of pectin fiber that you would by using the apple quickly. Of the three fasts, I would choose the apple fast any day!

One final thought: Many times pectin does a great job of absorbing dirt in our intestines, but it still cakes on the intestinal lining. The best way to fix this problem (and it is highly recommended) is to perform a self-administered water enema. Two years ago I had no idea what this meant, but once I got up the courage to try it, I was shocked at what came out of my intestines! Dark bits of unknown matter came out, probably stuck to my intestinal lining for who knows how long. All I know is that now my intestines are in a better thriving environment. If you don’t know what an enema is, it’s a way of putting water into the colon through the anus, flushing out the colon, and then flushing out everything in the toilet. It sounds disgusting, but if you look at it through physiological and medical eyes, then it makes a lot of sense. Typically, I would buy the disposable enemas you can find at any drug store and do one each night of my apple fast. It’s amazing what you find the first time you do it!

Cleaning your system will help your overall health. It will clear up the diseases and overgrowths you have been experiencing, cleansing you from the inside out. Now, with a clean system, you are free to continue your health and add some physical activity to your lifestyle.
