Sony Ericsson XPERIA X2 is the Second Generation of Sony Smartphones

Sony Ericsson XPERIA X2 is the second generation of Sony’s XPERIA line of smartphones. This latest generation was introduced in September 2009. It brings an updated version of the original XPERIA to the high-end cell phone market. This latest offering uses the Windows Mobile .5 operating system.

The Sony Ericsson XPERIA X2 with Windows Mobile 6.5, this operating system is a middleware program that sits between Windows Mobile 6.1 and Mobile 7, which will be released in spring 2010. Although this operating system is an intermediate update, it contains some significant improvements. It uses the new Internet Explorer 6 in 6 mobile browser. This navigation system is designed to provide greater simplicity and the ability to navigate with greater finger sensitivity.

This second generation smartphone comes with a 3.2-inch touch screen and offers 8.1-megapixel photography capabilities. One of the best features of this cell phone is the fully accessible slide-out keyboard. This keyboard is one of the largest in the industry and makes it easy to use, compared to some keyboards that are designed for the fingers of a child rather than the hands of a grown man.

Although this generation still uses the Windows Mobile 6.5 operating system, it differs from its predecessor in interface. Panels in this new generation have come a long way from the original Phone X and now provide a complete system for using various animated and interactive home screens. This interface makes it much easier to navigate to all the options on the screen.

The second generation XPERIA has a total of 30 dashboards available for download. 14 of these are preloaded. These panels are for the user to configure the main Internet applications, such as Skype, Mytopia or Google. This is another attempt by Sony to offer an extremely user-friendly smartphone. This greatly reduces the hostile operations of some of the other smartphones available on the market.

Sony has even provided the ability to display cell phone presentations on any TV screen. This feature can provide some great benefits. It’s all part of Sony Ericsson’s attempt to be easy to use and provide a way to stay connected to the information highway like never before.

Sony realizes the importance of staying connected in today’s business world and the importance of a mobile phone being a portal to your office from anywhere. These features take the phone well beyond the mobile telecommunications devices of the past and have turned it into a complete communications device that allows the user to be out of the office and still connected. This phone provides accessibility that the first generation could not.

The Sony Ericsson XPERIA X2 is one step ahead of the first generation phone introduced by them. This smartphone is designed to introduce some improvements on the original format with greater ease of use and greater accessibility to all methods of communication over the Internet. This phone is a sign of things to come and is well worth the purchase price.
