Lamborghini Gallardo or Ford Focus? There is not much competition!

Obviously each driver will have different categories and stipulations regarding what makes the perfect car. Some will take the view that power, speed and performance are the mark of a truly great car and will suggest that the Bugatti Veyron or something similar is the perfect car. Others will appreciate a more aesthetic nature and present cars like the Bentley Continental and Aston Martin Vanquish as the true purveyors of automotive perfection. I’ve always held the view that truly great cars don’t focus on one thing, but instead try to encapsulate everyone’s needs and wants in their designs and engineering. That’s precisely why my favorite car is the new Ford Focus.

Now you may be laughing or making fun of me for saying I’d rather have a Ford Focus than a Pagani Zonda or a Koenigsegg, but that’s just not true. I would love to own one of the many supercars or hypercars that are available on the market and if they gave me £1million to spend on a car I would not disappoint them. All I’m trying to say is that, in a practical world, the new Ford Focus is far less likely to thwart you than a supercar. Let me explain.

First of all, you need to consider fuel efficiency. Ford has become one with the engineering that seems to be guzzling fuel reserves, and the Focus is no different. With economical driving disciplines in place, it’s possible to get standard supermini fuel economy out of a Ford Focus. This leaves you with more money in your wallet and having to spend less time sitting at the pumps, recharging every few hours.

Second, the issue of practicality must be addressed. Everyone has to make a weekly purchase or pick up groceries from the city. In a Ford Focus, this is a relatively easy task. Parking is a breeze, boot space is superb and, thanks to the Ford Focus’s ‘understated’ beauty, it won’t attract vandals to tear it to shreds. Conversely, if you choose to do your grocery shopping in your new Ferrari 599, you’ll find parking excruciatingly difficult, you’ll find you only have luggage space to fit a small basket of Satsumas, and vandals will smash your Ferrari badge and mirrors. mirrors. out before you can say “hands off my car!”

I admit, owning a supercar would be a dream come true, I have a soft spot for the Lamborghini Gallardo, but in an increasingly practical world, it becomes almost impossible to think of a right time to use one. With the cost of gas, congestion on the roads, and the growing number of uninsured drivers on the roads, why drive for pleasure?

Take my advice and get the best practical car money can buy; the new Ford Focus. You’ll get great performance and fantastic economy, just don’t expect 0-60 in under three and a half seconds.
