Restaurant City – Mexican Theme

When Playfish released the Japanese theme pack, it lasted for 3 weeks and caused an uproar throughout the city’s restaurant community. Sushi, seaweed, and wasabi suddenly become hot dishes and are in high demand on commercial windows.

Now we look at the Mexican theme that was released not so long ago. I know I should have done this review as soon as the theme pack was released, but I wanted to see what additional elements Playfish will include.

To my biggest disappointment, the Mexican theme only lasted about a week before they released the next add-on pack, which is on Alice in Wonderland.

Now this is not a total loss. I mean I have converted my little restaurant to look like an authentic Mexican restaurant. The tables and wallpapers are very well done along with other types of decorations. In particular, I like the mariachi band, but it costs around 90k for one and is a bit too expensive for my liking.

Since there is very little to the Mexican theme, I actually have to put up extra money to get some western decor to go with it. I am lucky that the Mexican theme and the western themes mix quite well. The only thing I didn’t like was the cactus chair. It was a bit strange asking my clients to sit on spikes and pin cushions.

Dishes are also limited on Mexican themes as only one new dish is added to the menu list and apparently no drinks.

All in all, the promotion for the theme only lasted 1 week and I don’t think Playfish is going to put anything else on it as there isn’t much response from fans. Let’s hope the Alice in Wonderland theme lasts a little longer this time.

This theme pack is rated 2.5 out of 5.
